Oversite is a browser extension that helps developers visually compare websites. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Data Collection
Oversite does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
What we access locally (never transmitted):
- Active tab URL — Used only to construct the comparison URL and sync navigation between sites
- Local storage — Stores your current comparison session (base URLs only) so it persists during navigation. This data stays in your browser and is never transmitted anywhere.
What we do NOT collect:
- Personal information
- Browsing history
- Form data or passwords
- Analytics or usage data
- Cookies from websites you visit

Data Storage
All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome’s
storage.local API. This includes only:
- Whether a diff session is active
- The base URLs being compared
This data is automatically cleared when you close the comparison overlay.
Third Parties
Oversite does not share any data with third parties. There are no analytics, tracking, or advertising components.
